About the role
The IT Support Associate role supports and tunes software/hardware systems and network infrastructures to ensure high levels of availability and security for all business units within ConnectiveRx.
Responsibilities
- Aids in all aspects of desktop management, including creating, maintaining, and modifying desktop images, scheduling and distributing company-wide software patches through remote administration and advanced Windows scripting.
- Anticipates, mitigates, identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware and software problems on servers, workstations, printers, networking equipment, firewalls, and applications.
- Manages user accounts, permissions, and access rights in accordance with company policies.
- Recommends, schedules, and performs software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, and/or reconfigurations.
- Supports company communications including email/IM, telephony, call management systems, voice mail, video conferencing systems, workstations, and mobile connectivity to and from the WAN, LAN, and WLANs.
- Ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of enterprise data including PHI on servers/computers while at rest, in process, and in transit in accordance to ISO27001 and HIPAA compliances.
- Conducts testing and development of disaster recovery plans to detect faults, minimize malfunctions, and back up systems.
- Analyzes system, server, application, and network performance through various SNMP and other management tools.
- Adheres to and participates in maintaining and auditing ConnectiveRx’s ISO 27001:2013 Information Security Management System.
- Works in an ITIL-driven environment and possesses working knowledge of ITIL principles and processes.
- Improves all department-related policies and procedures to enhance their effectiveness, particularly in the area of Information Security.
- Stays updated on market developments to identify emerging security and infrastructure technologies, risks, and trends to ensure ConnectiveRx’s computing environment remains competitive with emerging technologies and threats.
Requirements
- On-call availability and rotation.
- Primarily sedentary work with occasional lifting to 20 pounds, and exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- See, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring visual acuity, manual dexterity, grasping and other similar tasks requiring physical activity and repetitive motions.
- Operate standard office and computer equipment.
- Some travel may be required.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate college student working towards a 4-year undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT/IST, or a comparable program.
- MCSA, A+, Net+ certifications preferred.
Skills
- Solid understanding of desktop systems and OTS applications.
- Excellent hardware skills with an understanding of Dell & Lenovo laptops, peripheral equipment, printers, and basic networking.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities for Tier 1 & 2 IT-related issues.
- Excellent knowledge of Windows 10, Mac OS support (a plus).
