About the role

Associate Investment Banking responsibilities include providing structure, marketing, and execution support to senior team members, with occasional rotational transactional, statistical, and execution support. The role involves deep analysis of clients’ financials, industries, and M&A opportunities, valuation of public and private companies, complex financial and M&A modeling, preparation of client proposals and internal memos, client presentations, and assistance with negotiations and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze clients’ financial situations, industry and market data, and mergers and acquisition opportunities
  • Value private and public companies
  • Perform complex financial and M&A modeling
  • Prepare external client proposals and internal underwriting memos
  • Prepare client presentations based on the above analysis
  • Assist with client negotiations and documentation
  • Provide structure, transactional, and marketing support at a professional and subject matter expert level to senior team members
  • Recommend and implement solutions requiring specialized/advanced knowledge within the area of responsibility
  • Develop and maintain contacts with market participants
  • Provide updates regarding institutional/retail demand and remaining TD liability for equity deals
  • Work closely with/oversee junior colleagues to ensure accuracy
  • Establish an environment that promotes respect for the individual employee and adheres to the policies and guidelines of the Bank
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information
  • Keep fully informed on market data, economic information, key industry developments, and regulatory standards to assist in maximizing profitability through sound and well-informed decisions
  • Direct, train, and develop staff to enable them to meet challenges, department objectives, and achieve full potential
  • Demonstrate governance, control, and risk management behaviors in alignment with TD policies and practices

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Mathematics/Economics
  • Series 7, 79, and 63 registrations
  • 3+ years of related experience

Pay

$175,000 – $225,000 USD base pay, with the actual offer varying based on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and business needs. Growth opportunities and skill development are designed to allow progression through the salary range over time.
