Associate, Internal Advisory Consultant

About the role

The Internal Advisory Consultant (IAC) drives sales of Future Standard’s products—including mutual funds, REITs, and Interval Funds—with Financial Advisors in an assigned US region. Partnering with cross-functional teams, the IAC increases product awareness and sales through telephone presentations, virtual meetings, and email correspondence. The role involves developing and implementing strategies to expand FS Investments’ coverage within the territory while collaborating with the broader Sales and Distribution team.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and proactively build relationships with financial advisors, divisional and regional representatives, research analysts, and investment professionals through outbound calls and follow-ups.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of capital markets, the securities industry, and alternative investments.
• Profile advisors to understand their practice, clients, and investment process, coordinating logistics for the sales process and pipeline.
• Learn, understand, and professionally represent all strategies and products across multiple channels and platforms while staying updated on competing products.
• Identify and pursue leads from research, referrals, ad campaigns, and regional canvassing; seek referrals from top producers to cultivate new advisor relationships.
• Manage territory and sales activities in an organized, efficient, and effective manner.
• Operate within the firm’s CRM system at an expert level, maintaining accurate and current database information.
• Provide support and direction to junior members of the sales team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• FINRA Series 7 required; Series 63 must be obtained within 3 months of employment.
• Three or more years of financial services experience, with at least two years in a Sales Consultant capacity preferred.
• Knowledge of multiple distribution channels (e.g., RIAs, wirehouses) is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Salesforce, and webinar tools required.
