Position Summary

Full-time, 12-month faculty employee contract - The normal workweek requires a five-day workweek and includes a minimum of 37.5 hours per week at an approved campus work site for instruction, office hours, and community and college service.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Models compassionate professionalism as an example to students.
  • Understanding the idea that not everyone learns in the same way i.e. to improve learning, we can tailor our strategies, rather than just trying harder, studying more, and so on.
  • Integrate programs, activities, and initiatives to optimize the student experience.
  • Provide counseling resources as needed.
  • Develop, adapt, and improve programs and services in response to changing environments, and evolving institutional priorities.
  • Ensure that each student has been presented with the material to successfully meet the learning objectives of each course within a student’s program of study.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of College goals and priorities as they relate to the student experience.
  • Participate in ongoing faculty assessment and professional development activities to ensure an active and engaged classroom experience for all students; maintain required certification and license.
  • Actively participate in meetings, review and analyze assessment data, compile reports, and meet academic and administrative deadlines.
  • Ensure campus compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory bodies' guidelines, along with internal policies of the college.

Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications:
    • Active and unencumbered registered nurse license in the state of Tennessee
    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with three years of Clinical Experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN) and teaching experience preferred

Skills

  • Computer proficiency utilizing routine office software such as MS Office Suite, email, internet, database/s, and virtual meeting platforms required.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication; organization and problem-solving; planning; and interpersonal skills consistent with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to deal constructively with difficult situations and people and to resolve conflicts rationally and judiciously.
  • Ability to work with people of various viewpoints, cultural backgrounds, and skill levels.
