About the Opportunity

The Associate Import Transportation Coordinator role supports the efficient handling of international import shipments through coordination with global partners and internal teams. This foundational position is designed for individuals beginning their careers in logistics and supply chain operations. The role contributes to customer satisfaction and company revenue by ensuring accurate shipment processing, maintaining shipment visibility, and facilitating proactive issue resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely updates and support for import shipments.
  • Coordinate shipment status and delivery requirements with customers, carriers, overseas partners, and internal teams.
  • Maintain professionalism, responsiveness, and customer service.
  • Communicate delays or service issues proactively and escalate concerns when needed.
  • Develop knowledge of transportation processes, documentation, and systems.
  • Track shipments, maintain accurate records, and ensure shipment visibility.
  • Manage shipping documentation and coordinate cargo availability and delivery.
  • Communicate customs clearance and shipment requirements to stakeholders.
  • Escalate and assist in resolving operational issues and delays.
  • Support transportation issue resolution across air, ocean, rail, and domestic modes.
  • Follow up to minimize service disruptions and additional costs.
  • Assist with corrective actions and recovery plans for service exceptions.
  • Collaborate with Transportation, Customs Brokerage, Domestic Operations, Accounting, Sales, and overseas partners.
  • Participate in training, meetings, and process improvements.
  • Maintain compliance with standard operating procedures and customer requirements.
  • Complete and audit files and invoices accurately and on time.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Foundational knowledge of international transportation and import logistics.
  • Ability to learn and use transportation management systems, including CargoWise.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new processes.
  • Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related fields.
