About the Role
This role supports the daily functions of the Human Resources Department, including hiring and recruitment, orientation and on-boarding, benefit administration, compliance follow-up, data analytics, training, and associate relations. The position balances administrative and strategic support for the assigned business segment.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment and Hiring: Post jobs, screen candidates, conduct interviews, extend offers, and manage the onboarding process.
- Maintain various HR files and documentation.
- Benefits and Compliance:
- Support enrollment for benefit programs, answer questions on coverage, and process changes.
- Support administration of OFCCP programs, goals, and training.
- Knowledge of FMLA, leaves, and ADA programs.
- Support and administer FLSA compliance standards.
- Investigate and recommend action on unemployment, workers' compensation, and EEO claims.
- Performance Management: Support the talent cycle, goal setting, writing and delivering performance reviews, and coaching leaders on communication.
- Associate Relations: Investigate associate concerns, mediate disputes, address complaints, and maintain positive associate relations.
- Strategic Partnerships: Partner with HR management and HR Business Partners to provide guidance on associate relations, company policies, promotions, demotions, transfers, benefits, leave of absences, return-to-work programs, worker’s compensation, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Project Management: Experience or certification in project management.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
- PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
- 1-3 years of human resources experience.
- Knowledge of human resources policies and practices.
- Detailed knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Ability to provide leadership while partnering with facility management to proactively address HR issues, questions, and concerns.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills for all organizational levels.
- Ability to work independently, with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to travel, including overnight, between 10% and 25% to company locations.
