About the role

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is hiring an Associate Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer to join the Flight Systems Engineering Capability in Berkeley, MO. This role will support new product design, development, integration, and flight test for the T-7A Red Hawk, focusing on flight control and subsystem control.

Responsibilities

• Gather, define, and document Guidance, Navigation, and Control mission requirements and ensure requirements traceability and quality from the system level to component level.
• Use multidisciplinary model data (aero, mass properties, propulsion, etc.) to develop and refine a complex, nonlinear, 6 degrees of freedom simulation model.
• Support design of flight control laws and tools to achieve design and performance targets.
• Use advanced analysis to assess and refine the control law design.
• Perform model validation against test data to inform and improve the accuracy of the simulation environment.
• Develop supplementary controllers, limiters, mode logic, and signal shaping to properly bound the performance within all areas of the flight envelope.
• Work with flight simulation and Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) software engineers to incorporate control laws into the operational flight program.
• Support flight simulations, hardware in the loop testing, and flight testing.
• Participate in design reviews, analyses, simulations, and component/system testing to ensure delivery of products that meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations.
• Author and maintain engineering documentation for consistency and delivery.
• Support development of solutions and disposition of issues to assure customer satisfaction.
• Participate in new business development efforts.

Works under general supervision.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-U.S. equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
• 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

Qualifications

• Master of Science degree in Engineering.
• Experience with system and component modeling.
• Experience with implementing algorithms in a real-time system.
• Experience programming in C/C#.
• Advanced Control Systems courses.
• Experience using Matlab/Simulink or MatrixX.

Pay

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $93,500 - $126,500

Schedule

This position is for 1st shift.

This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 is required, including U.S. Citizens, U.S. Nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility and requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required). An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start is required.
