Associate - Global Transportation Finance (Los Angeles, CA)
About the role
The Litigation team in the New York office is seeking an associate with 2-4 years of law firm experience in Creditors' Rights Litigation.
Responsibilities
- Focused reading and writing, crafting arguments, and mastering various discrete areas of law
- Drafting pleadings, complaints, motions, discovery demands and responses, settlement agreements, forbearance agreements, and other litigation and enforcement papers
- Appearing in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts, communicating directly with clients and opposing counsel, negotiating settlements, and managing active litigation matters
- Experience enforcing commercial loans, collateral recovery and repossession, workouts, judgment enforcement, bankruptcy and adversary proceedings, and Uniform Commercial Code issues, including Articles 2, 2A and 9
- Deposition experience, courtroom experience, and strong case management, writing, and client communication skills are highly valued
Requirements
- 2-4 years of law firm experience focused on commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and Creditors' Rights Litigation
- A J.D. degree and strong academic credentials
- Admitted in (and in good standing in) New York
- Either admitted (and in good standing in) New Jersey or willing to seek admission in New Jersey
Qualifications
- Practical experience drafting pleadings, complaints, motions, discovery demands and responses, settlement agreements, forbearance agreements, and other litigation and enforcement papers
- Experience appearing in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts, communicating directly with clients and opposing counsel, negotiating settlements, and managing active litigation matters
- Experience enforcing commercial loans, collateral recovery and repossession, workouts, judgment enforcement, bankruptcy and adversary proceedings, and Uniform Commercial Code issues, including Articles 2, 2A and 9
- Deposition experience and strong case management abilities are highly valued
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently

Pay
$230,000 - $285,000 annual base salary
Schedule
Hybrid work policy with three days a week in-office attendance and two days remote
