Associate Geologist/Hydrogeologist

WSP is seeking an Experienced Geologist / Hydrogeologist for our Redmond, WA, Seattle, WA, or Portland, OR offices. Join our Environment, Remediation, and Water Team and contribute to a growing organization that meets client objectives and solves their challenges.

About the role

Be involved in projects that require interpretation of subsurface conditions and development of conceptual geologic models using Leapfrog Geo or Leapfrog Works by Seequent. Work closely with the WSP Site Investigation and Remediation Team and the wider WSP technical community in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret geologic and hydrogeological data, and prepare reports.
• Provide technical support for geologic and hydrogeologic investigations, hydrogeologic testing, geologic and hydrogeologic visualization, analytical and numerical groundwater flow modeling, contaminated sites investigations, and conceptual site model development.
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships by providing technical expertise, responsiveness, and quality cost-targeted consulting services.
• Perform business development activities (lead or supporting role), including client contact, presentations, proposal writing, and professional society participation.
• Serve as an internal technical resource to ensure technical quality within WSP.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct.
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrology, or Engineering.
• Minimum of one year of experience developing geologic models and conceptual site models using Leapfrog Geo or Leapfrog Works by Seequent.
• Minimum of one year of experience, preferably in a consulting practice.
• Strong academic knowledge of physical geology and hydrogeology.
• Proficiency with soil and rock logging procedures.
• Practical experience with groundwater sampling, monitoring well installation, and hydraulic conductivity testing.
• Familiarity with conceptual site model development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentations, technical documentation, and proposal/report writing.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent work ethic with strong organization and time management skills.
• Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Professional Geologist (PG) license.
• Post-graduate degree (M.Sc., Ph.D.) in Geology, Hydrology, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Familiarity with geophysical methods and interpretation of geophysical data.
• Experience with GIS-type software, digital databases, and visualization software.
• Programming experience including Python, R, and VBA.

Pay

Expected salary range (all locations): $80,169 – $84,200. The final compensation will be based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal equity.
