Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional legal projects, guiding strategy and resolutions
- Advise product and engineering on new features and market strategies
- Manage regulatory compliance and assess business impacts from changes
- Consult with senior leaders on regulatory risks and enforcement trends
- Negotiate business development agreements to mitigate regulatory risk
- Implement new legal technology and workflows across departments
- Establish governance for legal AI use and standards
Qualifications
- 7+ years of legal experience in consumer financial services (fintech or bank)
- Deep understanding of consumer financial regulations such as CFPB rules and state licensing
- Track record of influencing product and engineering decisions at senior levels
- Ability to operate in fast-paced environments with incomplete information
- Excellent communication skills, favoring clarity and simplicity
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar admission required
