Associate General Counsel, Product and Commercial

About the role

We are seeking an Associate General Counsel to join our rapidly growing team. Reporting to our General Counsel, you will work closely with the leadership team, including our two founders, to support the development and launch of new financial products and features. Your responsibilities will include advising on a wide range of legal matters across product, commercial, and regulatory areas, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating key agreements, and partnering with compliance, risk, and operations teams to align on regulatory strategy. You will also be responsible for building internal processes, templates, and frameworks that scale with the company and identifying areas of legal or regulatory risk and proposing practical paths forward.

Responsibilities

• Advise on a wide range of legal matters across product, commercial, and regulatory
• Support the development and launch of new financial products and features
• Draft, review, and negotiate key agreements (partnerships, vendors, customers, and more)
• Help structure and execute strategic relationships with banks, fintech partners, and infrastructure providers
• Partner with compliance, risk, and operations teams to align on regulatory strategy
• Build internal processes, templates, and frameworks that scale with the company
• Identify areas of legal or regulatory risk and propose practical paths forward
• Manage external counsel where needed

Requirements

• 5+ years of legal experience (law firm, in-house, and/or government)
• Strong generalist skillset across commercial, regulatory, and/or product-related legal work
• Experience in fintech, financial services, banking, or high-growth technology companies
• Excellent judgment and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
• Clear and concise communication style
• Ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and leadership
• Very high ownership mindset

Qualifications

• Nice to have: Experience supporting expansion into new consumer products, capabilities, or regulatory frameworks, familiarity with crypto, stablecoins, or AI, prior experience at an early-stage or scaling startup, experience building legal processes from scratch
