Associate General Counsel (Litigation Counsel)

For our client, we are seeking a Associate General Counsel (Litigation Counsel) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will provide senior-level legal guidance on litigation, regulatory, and compliance matters in a highly regulated financial services environment. The position will partner closely with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to assess risk, shape legal strategy, and support sound business decisions. In addition, the role will monitor legal and regulatory developments, manage outside counsel, and help strengthen the organization’s overall legal risk posture. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $164,780 – $314,960 annually Responsibilities Provide legal counsel to senior leadership on regulatory, compliance, and litigation risks Lead complex legal assignments with significant business impact Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, producing clear legal positions Collaborate across the organization to mitigate legal risks proactively Monitor and analyze changes in laws and regulations, advising leadership accordingly Guide junior attorneys and serve as a resource within the Chief Legal Office Manage outside counsel to obtain legal advice and ensure compliance Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant education/experience Licensed to practice law in one state or territory of the USA 8 years of relevant legal experience, with at least 7 years as a practicing attorney Proven ability to collaborate and influence decisions with stakeholders Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans 401(k) and pension plans Life insurance and parental benefits Adoption assistance and paid time off, including holidays and volunteer hours Wellness programs and career path planning for professional development Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
