Associate General Counsel
About the role
MCI is a leading provider of business services, including customer experience, business process outsourcing, and anything-as-a-service solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various areas of law, including mergers and acquisitions, contracting, consumer law, intellectual property law, telecommunications law, insurance, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support to the General Counsel
- Draft, review, and revise contracts and other transactional agreements
- Advise on a variety of legal topics for different internal business units and executives
- Conduct legal research on a wide range of topics
- Monitor and stay updated on applicable state and federal laws and industry publications
- Maintain the highest standards of personal, professional, and ethical conduct
- Communicate policies and procedures to staff clearly and effectively
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate and membership in at least one U.S. State bar
- At least 2 full years of experience practicing law, with experience in the areas of law mentioned
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and follow through on deadlines
- Proficient in legal research and drafting, with experience using Westlaw and PACER
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Clear, concise, and practical communication skills (both oral and written)
- A solution-oriented and positive mindset that embraces change and sets goals
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with communications and privacy laws
- Licensed in NY, Washington D.C., or California
Pay
Starting compensation is based on experience and is competitive. Additional benefits include health benefits, retirement savings, disability insurance, life insurance, and paid time off.
Schedule
The job operates in a professional office environment. Employees will sit for long periods while using a computer and telephone headset, and may occasionally move around the office to accomplish tasks.
Physical Requirements
The job requires sitting/standing for long periods, operating a computer and other office equipment, reaching in any direction, raising or lowering objects, moving objects from place to place, holding onto objects, and moving or exerting force up to forty (40) pounds.
