Pay: Salary given. Schedule: Not mentioned; maybe full-time 12-mo position implied but not explicit schedule. Should not create Schedule unless stated. The posting says "Based on a full-time 12-mo position" but that's about salary calculation, not schedule. Probably not include Schedule. We must not include boilerplate like Date Opened, Filing Deadline, Location? Location is substantive? It says Location: Los Angeles Community College District Office. Should we include? The instruction: "Do NOT repeat the job title as a heading (the page already shows it) and do NOT put Job ID / requisition numbers as headings — fold minor metadata into a short

We must not include EEO etc. Remove selection process, reasonable accommodations, application instructions, copyright, etc. We need to preserve all substantive information: definition, typical duties, distinguishing characteristics, supervision, class qualifications (knowledge, ability), entrance qualifications (education/experience, special), benefits, salary. We should not repeat job title (Associate General Counsel? Actually posting seems for Associate General Counsel? The definition mentions Associate General Counsel, Assistant General Counsel, General Counsel. The job likely is Associate General Counsel. But we must not repeat job title as heading. We should not include sections like Supervision or Distinguishing Characteristics unless we decide to incorporate them. The instruction: "Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones." We could merge Distinguishing Characteristics and Supervision into Qualifications or About the role. But we must preserve all substantive information. We could add a paragraph under About the role that includes distinguishing characteristics and supervision. However we already have About the role with definition only. We could expand About the role to include distinguishing characteristics and supervision. Let's do that: About the role paragraph includes definition, distinguishing characteristics, supervision. Thus we need to include those details. Let's craft About the role paragraph: "Provides complex legal analysis, advice and counsel, and representation to executives, administrators, and staff regarding a wide array of legal matters arising from operational issues, practices, decisions, and transactions related to the District and its programs and activities. Distinguishing characteristics: An Associate General Counsel researches and provides legal advice and counsel on a wide array of legal matters to the Board of Trustees, Personnel Commission, Chancellor, and administrative staff as directed by the General Counsel; addresses difficult legal or factual questions which are complex because of the absence of clearly applicable precedents or are more highly arguable because of the complexity of the facts or the different possible constructions which may be placed on either the facts or the laws and precedents involved. Supervision: General supervision is received from the General Counsel; work direction is provided to professional, technical, and clerical staff assigned to the Office of General Counsel; functional supervision is exercised over assigned outside legal counsel." That preserves. Now we need to ensure we didn't miss any substantive info: The "Typical Duties" we captured as responsibilities list. The "Class Qualifications" we captured as knowledge and ability. The "Entrance Qualifications" we captured. The "Special" we captured. Benefits captured. Pay captured. Location we added as a short p at top. We omitted "Definition" separate but we included in About the role. We omitted "Job Type: Open & Promotional (Dual)" - that's minor metadata; could fold into short p or drop.
