About the role

The Associate Financial Planner Intern will report to Financial Planners and Partners, supporting all aspects of client relationships and financial plan implementation, including internal and external workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and update consult files for each client’s annual meeting
  • Assist the Financial Planner with planning opportunities for the client
  • Support the Financial Planner and client on implementation items from consult or as needed
  • Respond promptly to client questions via email and phone calls
  • Review annual income tax returns and complete year-end tax projections
  • Perform financial analysis and tax planning for client business units
  • Participate in annual client meetings alongside the Financial Planner
  • Reconcile each client’s current investment asset allocation
  • Conduct retirement plan analysis and optimization based on annual client objectives
  • Correspond with internal departments and outside vendors to assist in financial plan implementation

Requirements

  • Working toward a bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Tax, or a related field
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on MS Excel

Work Environment

This role operates in a clerical, office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role, though some filing may be required, which could involve lifting files, opening filing cabinets, and bending or standing as necessary.

Schedule

This is a full-time, structured 8-week internship program running from Monday, January 10, 2028, to Friday, March 3, 2028. Interns are expected to be available for the full duration of the program. Standard workdays are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility possible based on management approval.
