Associate Financial Operations Analyst

Reporting to the Manager of Financial Operations, this role supports key operational functions across Accounts Receivable, Treasury, and Compliance within the insurance industry. The Financial Operations Analyst will work closely with the Accounts Receivable Specialist and Senior Treasury Analyst to perform daily and monthly processes while gaining exposure to accounts receivable, treasury, banking operations, and compliance. This role focuses on problem-solving, financial analysis, and driving operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries to the General Ledger.
  • Perform daily and monthly account reconciliations and support month-end close activities.
  • Analyze and reconcile intercompany balances across multiple legal entities and assist with weekly intercompany premium settlements.
  • Support daily banking operations, liquidity transfers, bank reconciliations, and treasury activities.
  • Assist with premium tax filings, compliance reporting, and documentation requirements.
  • Support banking and insurance systems implementations, enhancements, testing, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements and resolve financial discrepancies.
  • Serve as operational backup for critical Accounts Receivable, Treasury, and Compliance functions.
  • Conduct financial research and analysis to investigate operational discrepancies, resolve exceptions, and support informed business decisions across Accounts Receivable, Treasury, and Compliance.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis, operational projects, and process improvement initiatives as business needs arise.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and the ability to quickly learn and contribute across multiple areas of Financial Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, required.
  • 0-1+ years of relevant experience, preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Work Environment

  • Inside climate-controlled office building.
  • Prolonged sitting and using a PC.
  • Less than 10% travel.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
