Associate, FHA Production Support
Purpose And Job Summary
The Associate role supports various loan production and underwriting functions, including review of third-party reports, underwriting analysis, oversight of FHA Multifamily loan applications, document collection and transmittal, due diligence, and leading internal deal coordination processes. Works directly with Underwriters, Originators, clients, FHA, and vendors as necessary throughout the loan process.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Support FHA Multifamily Origination Screening to include, but not limited to:
- Being well versed in the various Excel-based screening and underwriting models
- Determining appropriate level of due diligence required to complete a thorough loan screening
- Completing analysis to determine loan sizing and S&U that meet FHA programmatic requirements and are compliant with the applicable loan execution
- Afford Underwriters by providing daily oversight of FHA multifamily loan applications
- Be the primary lead for internal deal coordination to include, but not limited to:
- Engagement and coordination of third-party reports
- Creation and collection of due diligence needs list
- Reviewing application due diligence for completeness and accuracy
- Administrative transaction organization
- Creation of complete and deficiency free application submissions to HUD
- Communicate clearly with borrowers, third party providers, Originators, Underwriters, FHA, and others to facilitate transaction flow
- Develop the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare FHA credit request presentations, including being well versed in Commercial Real Estate policies and procedures, FHA MAP Guide, relevant FHA documentation, and underwriting and processing guidelines
- Ensure work product adheres to Lument policies, processes, and procedures
- Attend trainings and courses in additional education as prescribed
Education, Skills And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, real estate, or related field required
- 2-3 years of full-time experience in real estate related financial analysis for a lending institution, brokerage firm, or investment firm preferred
- Current or recent experience in FHA-insured lending prioritized
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Microsoft Excel
- Demonstration of a strong work ethic, ambition, teamwork, creativity, aptitude for accuracy and detail, and sound ethical conduct
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines, and to adjust priorities in a changing environment
- Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and to use discretion in the performance of daily activities
- Initiative and strong sense of personal motivation as well as responsibility
Pay
Annual base salary gross: $90,000 - $100,000 (NY only)
The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end of ORIX’s salary for this position based on geography. Actual base salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base pay is one component of ORIX’s total compensation package for employees.
