Job Responsibilities
- Assists in the preparation of engineering plans, designs, specifications, and standards.
- Assists in the preparation of engineering studies to support specific program objectives.
- Counsels and trains less experienced staff.
- Conducts and documents research for system compliance requirements.
- Assists in the preparation of project cost estimates.
- Creates and updates job work orders and project documentation including tasks and calculations.
- Conducts office and field research, measurement and verification of equipment data, and creates and updates equipment records.
- Reviews engineering and records documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Performs Data and records management.
- Ensures compliance with codes, standards, and design requirements.
- Assists others in making updates to department standards, processes, and tools.
- Supports emergency response work as requested including immediate and extended restoration efforts driven by weather and other system failures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- A two-year technical degree or equivalent technical certificate in design or pre-engineering, or 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient with PC software.
- Utility operations experience, knowledge of subject matter within assigned area of focus.
