Associate Engineer, Mechanical Systems Design
About the role
Otto Aerospace is seeking a dynamic engineer to support the design, development, and integration of Mechanical Systems, including Interior Furnishings & Equipment. You will join a team developing the world’s most efficient aircraft.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and integrate mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, performance standards, and regulatory requirements, to include the following:
- Flight Controls (ATA 27)
- Landing Gear (ATA 32)
- Ice Protection (ATA 30)
- Furnishings & Equipment (ATA 25)
- Cabin Interior Furnishings & Equipment
- Cockpit Interior Furnishings
Requirements
- Education: B.S., in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience in Mechanical Systems design
- Preferred Skills: Experience with fabrication, assembly, and installation methods of mechanical components; Experience with ASME Y14.100 Drawings and Y14.5 GD&T; Experience with model and drawing checking, engineering part and model release, and engineering change process; Experience in composite and metallic rapid prototyping (additive manufacturing) for both experimental and production applications; Experience utilizing CATIA V5, V6, or 3dx

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand on feet and walk around for extended periods of time

Where you'll be
This role is hybrid on-site at our facility at Meacham Airport in Ft Worth, TX until mid/late 2026, at which time it will transition to full onsite in Jacksonville, FL.
