Associate, Economic Valuation Services - Transfer Pricing | Chicago Summer/Fall 2028
About the role
Valuation professionals at KPMG provide clients robust and informed guidance on valuation matters across multiple sectors, deal stages, and business needs. We determine fair (market) value of equity shares, assets, or complex financial instruments for mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, tax, and other regulatory standards. Our engagements include providing pre- and post-deal Purchase Price Allocations (PPA), Impairment Testing, employee or management incentive scheme valuations, and recurring fund valuations.

Responsibilities
- Understand how transfer pricing and tax principles and regulations impact businesses and work with KPMG member firms around the world to help our clients achieve their transfer pricing business goals.
- Research and analyze value chains and value drivers in various industries to evaluate transfer pricing options.
- Research and analyze transfer pricing benchmarks.
- Help prepare various deliverables, including transfer pricing reports, client presentations, and client communications.
- Collaborate with team members within KPMG US and member firms globally to help our clients achieve their business goals.
- Perform financial analyses and develop financial models to help assess the impact of different intercompany transactions and transfer pricing policies using technologies such as Excel, artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and KPMG proprietary tools.
- Stay abreast of the latest transfer pricing and tax developments around the world.
Qualifications
- Must be pursuing or have obtained within the past 12 months a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or other quantitative field from an accredited college or university.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics preferred.
- Strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills.
- Demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach, in a dynamic, evolving environment.
- Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, ability to learn and navigate technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, MS Office Applications (including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and apply emerging technologies to enhance tax processes and insights.
- Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; feedback-oriented and resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
- Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle or public transportation.
- Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice.
