Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Urban Planning, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in economic development, Utilities, or a related field.
- Proven track record of successfully closing deals and managing large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of zoning regulations and land values.
- Exceptional negotiation and contract negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to engage and influence various stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel as needed for meetings and site visits.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic economic development plans and projects to stimulate economic growth.
- Actively participate in meetings with potential investors, stakeholders, and government officials to promote economic development initiatives.
- Utilize knowledge of zoning regulations and land values to identify and evaluate potential development sites.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and government entities.
- Lead the negotiation and closing of deals with developers, investors, and other relevant parties.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders and potential investors.
- Utilize MS Office tools to prepare reports, presentations, and other necessary documents.
- Respond to Requests for Information (RFI) in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure the success of economic development projects.

A bit about us: Our client, a regulated utility company, is seeking an Associate Economic Development Manager to support regional economic growth initiatives and strengthen partnerships with state, county, and local stakeholders. This role will work closely with internal utility teams and external agencies to attract, retain, and expand commercial and industrial customers within the service territory.
