Associate Director, US Equity Sales (US Long Only clients)

Scotiabank’s strong U.S. presence bridges key global markets for trade and investment flows. The Associate Director, U.S. Equity Sales will contribute to the success of the U.S. Equities business in New York, executing individual goals and initiatives in support of the team’s business strategies while ensuring compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. The goal is to participate in and manage the creation of bespoke trading products within the U.S. Equities Sales & Trading group.
Responsibilities
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Leverage knowledge of all U.S. research and trading products to identify client opportunities within the Equities franchise, driving increased revenues.
- Build and maintain the client platform in U.S. research sales by collaborating closely with partners across equities, research, trading, and ECM.
- Develop new trading relationships by leveraging Buy Side connections and exploring synergies across business areas within GBM, translating product knowledge on both new and existing lines of business.
- Collaborate with the Equity Sales and Trading team to develop bespoke trading products, such as EES, Options, Custom equity baskets, Reverse-Conversion facilitation, and MLP Swaps.
- Understand and apply the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Ensure effective and efficient operations while maintaining adequacy, adherence, and effectiveness of business controls to meet obligations related to operational risk, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF, and conduct risk.

Requirements
- Series 7, SIE, and 63 licenses required.
- 7+ years of experience in a similar role, with Buy Side and/or Sell Side experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Equities, Financing and Balance Sheet, Securities Lending, and Swaps.
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines pertaining to the U.S. equity business.
