About the role

This role involves analyzing incoming Data Center trends, emerging technologies, and customer needs, then translating them into a products and solutions strategy that offers competitive differentiation. The successful candidate will derive system architecture as well as system and sub-system technical requirements. Working with engineering teams and product managers, this leader will drive product solutions that enable a strategic, customer-centric product portfolio optimized across regions. The role requires close collaboration with sales, marketing, and operations to develop new products supporting growth in this fast-paced segment. This leader will establish key priorities in workflow processes and oversee resource allocation to ensure optimization of strategy and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze emerging trends in Data Center build and operation.
• Assess customer needs (hyperscalers, colos, others) and understand technical solutions from competition.
• Understand elements of product/system differentiation combining HVAC equipment throughout the full customer use chain and analyze trade-offs.
• Translate customer/marketing needs into a strategy for products and solutions offering.
• Define solution architecture and derive system-level requirements.
• Break down system technical requirements into sub-system technical requirements.
• Lead engineering teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and meeting all program performance expectations.
• Collaborate with customers, product management, and global stakeholders to align technical requirements and create scalable, cost-efficient solutions.
• Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful implementation of Data Center projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• 15+ years of industry experience working with Data Center customers on cooling system solutions or leading New Product Development projects/teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s in an Engineering or Industrial field such as Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• Familiarity with industrial business models for HVAC systems, preferably in a Data Center business environment.
• Proven track record of building trusted relationships cross-functionally and managing stakeholder relationships to achieve consensus on solutions/initiatives.
• Ability to solve complex problems using alternate paths in highly constrained, fast-paced environments.

Pay

The annual salary for this position is between $143,000.00 and $286,000.00. Factors affecting pay within this range include skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
