About the role

As a Revenue Cycle Management Systems and Analytics Associate Director, you will manage a team and optimize the billing processes and systems used by the Screening Reimbursement team at Guardant Health. This role ensures accurate and timely billing, resolves billing issues, and improves overall efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify improvement areas, prioritize initiatives, and drive continuous improvement through data analysis. Success is measured by improvements in cash collections, time to collections, and reduced operational costs as we scale.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of systems and data analysts, including coaching, mentoring, and day-to-day support.
  • Own the department portfolio of improvement projects, providing clarity, prioritization, and metrics for decision-making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify system enhancement opportunities, influence development roadmaps, and oversee implementation for reimbursement.
  • Provide technical guidance and act as the subject matter expert on process improvements.
  • Ensure appropriate data is used for performance monitoring and improvement measurements.
  • Analyze data and generate reports for senior leadership to identify trends and issues.
  • Stay updated with billing industry trends and best practices in billing systems and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Translate enterprise business strategy into functional roadmaps and execution plans supporting company priorities (KPIs, etc.).
  • Develop multi-year capability plans supporting scale, automation, and growth.
  • Serve as the owner for reimbursement vendor relationships, making recommendations on systems strategy, process governance, and operational priorities.
  • Establish governance for process improvement, portfolio prioritization, technology investments, and operational standards.
  • Develop policies and enterprise standards for reimbursement operations.
  • Ensure consistency of operational practices across all reimbursement functions.
  • Demonstrate curiosity, sound judgment, and the ability to critically evaluate and responsibly leverage AI-enabled tools in accordance with company policies and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in process improvement, analytics, and/or engineering leadership.
  • Proven track record of leading multiple operational project executions with impactful outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of insurance billing processes and regulations (a plus).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment with demonstrated ownership of large-scale business transformation initiatives.
  • Experienced with Excel (statistical functions), data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, SFDC, Tableau), and capable of presenting data to senior leadership.
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of projects using trade-off methodologies to ensure strong return on investment.

Schedule

Hybrid work model: Employees within 50 miles of a Guardant facility are required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for collaboration, with remote work allowed on other days.

Pay

The annualized base salary ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Primary Location (Palo Alto, CA): $200,900 - $276,250
  • Other US Locations: $170,765 - $234,813
  • Colorado: $180,810 - $248,625

Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on factors including geography, experience, education, job-related skills, job duties, and business need. This range does not include benefits, bonus, commission, or equity.
