About the role

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and organized Associate Director, Stronger Business Innovation & Sustainability. This role reports to the Senior Director, Stronger Operations and Business and is a dynamic, project-based position that will evolve based on the needs and priorities collectively identified by Stronger affiliates.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic business operations and project management leadership to Stronger’s financial sustainability and innovation opportunities work.
  • Lead the execution of high-impact partnerships with affiliates, mission-aligned innovators, and external vendors to drive program sustainability.
  • Own and manage the end-to-end project lifecycle, ensuring alignment between affiliate capacity and strategic program goals.
  • Drive project-based work across workstreams focused on affiliate sustainability, including milestone tracking, risk mitigation, and the creation of project management and alignment materials for cross-functional leadership.
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of high-priority projects, including collecting affiliate input to inform strategic direction and conducting external research.
  • Drive financial sustainability efforts through rigorous business assessments, market research, financial modeling, and the development of tools and processes to scale innovative business models across the affiliate network.
  • Engage affiliates to co-design new, revenue-generating partnerships, through analysis of healthcare innovation landscape, start-up ecosystems, and/or sectors like FemTech.
  • Build collaborative networks internally and with affiliates to deepen shared perspective on approaches to innovation partnership development.
  • Manage the development and execution of Stronger’s portfolio of business innovation and sustainability projects, including stakeholder management, tracking deliverables, and conducting analysis to identify areas for operational and strategic improvement.
  • Coordinate the development of revenue-shared partnerships, including conducting landscape scans, drafting models to measure return on investment, and collaborating on partner selection criteria for mission-aligned innovators.
  • Advise and partner with affiliates to evaluate readiness for new business opportunities, facilitating go/no-go decisions through rigorous financial modeling and supporting the development of implementation plans, workflows, and performance tracking systems.
  • Communicate program impact and business cases through collaborative data collection, narrative creation, and the reporting of key metrics to stakeholders.
  • Develop, adapt, and share tools, best practices, and resources through a centralized database to ensure continuous learning and scalability across the affiliate network.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in management consulting, healthcare advisory, or corporate strategy, combined with deep experience within the US domestic healthcare ecosystem.
  • At least 6 years of progressive professional experience in complex program management, combining rigorous financial analysis with hands-on experience in sustainable business planning, market landscaping, and managing high-impact external partnerships.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, with an MBA, MPA, MPH, or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in the U.S. healthcare ecosystem required, with familiarity with the healthcare innovation landscape, start-up ecosystems, or sectors like FemTech.
  • Deep knowledge of project management lifecycles, risk identification, and methodologies needed to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously.
  • Understanding of how to design and utilize KPIs, business dashboards, and ROI metrics to evaluate project success.
  • Ability to take high-level sustainability goals and tailor them into actionable program plans, timelines, and pilot frameworks that match affiliate capacities.
  • Strong skill in conducting market research, landscape scans, and financial analysis to provide rigorous data that informs strategic decisions.
  • Ability to package complex data, project updates, and business cases into clear, compelling presentations and reports for diverse audiences.
  • Skill in managing consultative networks, facilitating working groups, and gathering stakeholder feedback to adapt project methods effectively.
  • Proven track record of ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline in a highly-matrixed environment.
  • Extremely organized, process-oriented, self-starter who works well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong, effective partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • High proficiency with Google products and experience with Asana or other project management tools preferred.

Benefits

Planned Parenthood Federation of America offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including a salary range of $105,000 - $110,000 per year.

Pay

The salary for this position is $105,000 - $110,000 per year.

Schedule

This position requires 10-20% domestic travel.
