Associate Director, Strategic Procurement

About the role

This role will manage sourcing and supplier priorities that improve value, reliability, and operational performance. You will partner with finance, operations, legal, and business stakeholders to negotiate effectively, manage vendors, and support better purchasing decisions. The position offers the opportunity to improve cost discipline, supplier performance, and the processes that support scalable execution within a life sciences environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop outsourcing strategies aligning with corporate objectives
• Act as primary contact for R&D financial needs and procurement
• Lead sourcing initiatives and bid analysis
• Evaluate outsourcing models and provide impact balance recommendations
• Negotiate contracts with financial terms and vendor agreements
• Develop forecasts for clinical programs and R&D activities
• Monitor spending against budget and provide actionable recommendations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in finance, business administration, life science, or related field; MBA preferred
• 8+ years of relevant experience in procurement, outsourcing, and vendor management
• 2 years of experience in a Clinical Research Organization, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry
• Demonstrated experience in managing clinical study budgets and financial performance
• Experience working with Clinical Research Organizations and clinical service providers

Pay

$150,000 – $195,000 annually
