About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Associate Director Strategic Planning And Operations to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will lead operational priorities where safety, quality, compliance, and execution discipline are central to success. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a life sciences environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the VP of Global Patient Safety, shaping priorities and translating strategy into action
  • Lead and develop a team focused on aligning operational support across the Global Patient Safety department
  • Manage GPS's operating rhythm including meetings, business reviews, and follow-up mechanisms
  • Prepare discussions for senior leadership by framing objectives and recommending next steps
  • Create executive-level communications that clearly articulate GPS priorities and outcomes
  • Drive accountability within GPS by clarifying roles, milestones, and dependencies
  • Collaborate with various functions to align GPS priorities with broader enterprise objectives

Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or Master's with 5 years, or Bachelor's with 7 years; other qualifications accepted with varying experience
  • Strong executive communication abilities to develop narratives and presentations for senior audiences
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders across a matrixed organization for alignment
  • Experience in a chief of staff or similar business operations role supporting senior executives
  • Relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, particularly in Patient Safety or related areas
