Associate/Director STEM Careers Communities
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized and small-group career coaching to students and recent graduates.
- Guide students through career exploration, job and internship searches, networking strategies, and professional development.
- Advise and support students pursuing graduate and professional school opportunities.
- Help students identify and pursue research, internship, fellowship, and experiential learning opportunities.
- Guide students in identifying transferable skills, reflecting on experiences, and developing career action plans.
- Build relationships with faculty to better understand academic programs and connect classroom learning with career preparation.
- Develop career resources, advising materials, and website content.
- Research workforce trends, labor market information, graduate education pathways, and hiring practices to inform programming.
- Prepare, recommend, and manage the annual operating budget.
- Engage alumni, donors, and friends of the College as strategic partners through mentoring, networking, employer engagement, guest speaking, and other student-focused initiatives.

Qualifications
- A Master's degree in a relevant field such as Higher Education, Career Services, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in higher education career services, including experience in career coaching, program development, and student advising.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
- Experience in managing budgets and overseeing program operations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of STEM fields and current industry trends.
- Experience with digital platforms and tools for career services.
Skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 annually.
Schedule
The schedule for this position includes regular local and regional travel for employer visits, networking events, conferences, and partnership development. Evening and weekend work is required to support programs and events.
