About the role

Under general direction, the Associate Director of Research Security monitors, develops, executes, facilitates, and oversees controlled unclassified information (CUI) non-IT compliance programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) regulatory and governing standards. Reporting to senior system research security leadership, the Associate Director serves as a subject-matter expert, coordinating closely with relevant IT departments to advance a risk-based, mission-aligned approach that supports collaborative research and compliance with federal requirements across all member institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Assists and advises on broad-based research security frameworks for controlled unclassified information, coordinating closely with relevant IT departments and member compliance offices.
  • Oversees day-to-day non-IT CUI program management activities.
  • Develops project-based implementation plans in close coordination with compliance and IT offices.
  • Monitors compliance with federal, state, and TAMUS regulatory standards.
  • Serves as a liaison with System members to ensure awareness of and compliance with CUI requirements.
  • Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and develops a plan of action to address non-compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Six years of related experience.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
  • This is a security-sensitive position restricted to U.S. citizens only.

Pay

$6,251.00 - $7,500.00 per month, commensurate with experience.
