Position Summary
The Associate Director, Global Supplier Quality serves as the global program owner providing leadership for the GMP materials supplier change notification and assessment processes, supplier data governance, and proactive approved supplier list (ASL) maintenance, utilizing risk-based decision making and actions, operational excellence, and continuous improvement to deliver:
- Global oversight of supplier changes affecting the Gilead network with effective governance and global engagement for the supplier change notification and assessment process.
- Accurate and compliant Approved Supplier List management.
- Robust supplier master data integrity across enterprise quality and business systems.
- Meaningful supplier quality metrics and performance reporting for area of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Global Supplier Change Governance & Supplier Notification Assessment Program Leadership
- Serve as the global process owner and strategic leader for Gilead's Supplier Notification Assessment (SNA) Program, including governance, standards, procedures, and performance objectives.
- Ensure supplier change notifications are assessed consistently, compliantly, and using risk-based decision-making principles across all Gilead sites and functions.
- Drive harmonization, scalability, and continuous improvement of supplier change management processes across the global network.
- Monitor emerging supplier risks, assess program effectiveness, and implement appropriate visibility, escalation, and mitigation strategies.
- Lead cross-functional governance and decision-making for complex supplier changes with potential product quality, regulatory, supply chain, or network-wide impact.
- Provide oversight, consultation, and coordination for significant supplier changes affecting materials, services, manufacturing operations, external partners, and regulatory commitments.
- Establish consistent standards for supplier change assessment and implementation across GMP suppliers, contract manufacturers, laboratories, warehouses, and contract service providers.
- Collaborate with site and global stakeholders to ensure appropriate quality, regulatory, and business actions resulting from supplier changes.
- Ensure vendor site owner tasks for assigned Contract Service Providers (CSP) is managed and aligned to supplier quality lifecycle process.
Approved Supplier List (ASL) Management and Supplier Data Governance
- Own governance and oversight of the Approved Supplier List (ASL) as the authoritative source of supplier qualification status across Gilead.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure supplier qualification status, risk classifications, and lifecycle information remain accurate, current, and compliant.
- Establish and maintain processes for supplier master data creation, modification, retirement, and lifecycle management.
- Partner with Quality Systems, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Master Data organizations to ensure alignment and integrity of supplier information across enterprise systems.
- Drive supplier data quality initiatives to improve accuracy, consistency, reliability, and regulatory compliance across business and quality systems.
Metrics, Analytics & Business Insights
- Establish performance indicators and process health metrics to monitor program effectiveness, compliance, data quality, and supplier risk.
- Utilize analytics and trend monitoring to identify risks, drive proactive actions, and support data-driven decision making.
- Develop and maintain supplier quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting strategies that provide actionable business insights.
- Provide routine reporting and strategic insights to leadership and governance forums.
Continuous Improvement & Digital Transformation
- Lead strategic initiatives that improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability of supplier quality compliance processes.
- Establish sustainable governance mechanisms that drive accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Sponsor digital transformation, automation, and Lean initiatives that enhance supplier oversight, reporting capabilities, data visibility, and compliance execution.
Governance and Stakeholder Engagement
- Sponsor and lead global governance forums to drive alignment, accountability, and collective ownership of supplier quality processes.
- Build strong partnerships across Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Quality Systems organizations.
- Represent Global Supplier Quality during inspections, audits, and health authority interactions related to supplier quality systems and supplier governance processes.
