About the role

The role involves leading programme delivery and shaping strategy across a portfolio of projects. Key responsibilities include directing performance, governance, and implementation excellence, managing budgets, and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Directs coordination and delivery of a sub-programme or smaller programme and oversees its implementation of project strategies.
  • Improves performance from the bid baseline by optimizing resources and monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating activities, systems, and methodologies.
  • Defines relationship ownership and serves as the primary contact for Mace Business Unit Directors (BUDs).
  • Maintains exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability, governance, risk, stakeholder management, and programme compliance standards.
  • Creates a high-performing and inclusive team environment that encourages contribution and recognition.
  • Ensures the programme operates effectively with an effective risk management strategy, with appropriate management actions and risk treatments established.
  • Proactively conveys and connects the wider business strategy to the programme team and promotes associated initiatives.
  • Builds and maintains internal and external relationships to foster growth and increase networks, developing internal and external communication.
  • Adapts the full benefits of Construction to Production (C2P), Net Zero Carbon, and Digital & Data innovation.
  • Promotes Mace's value of Safety First, exhibiting visible safety behaviors, sharing lessons learned, and using safety moments and Mace's HSW framework.
  • Manages a number of Senior Managers, Managers, and Assistant Managers.
  • Shares responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

Requirements

  • Proven experience and track-record as a sub-programme or smaller programme lead.
  • Technical understanding of programme management practices, controls, programme governance, and procedures.
  • Budgetary oversight (external programme budget and internal fee budget).
  • Risk & opportunity management experience/practitioner.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills across cost, scheduling, procurement, contract administration, financial controls, and reporting, across the project lifecycle.
  • Competency and understanding of current Health Safety Executive (HSE) (or local equivalent) regulations.
  • Relevant and commensurate technical, leadership, and management qualifications.
  • Network of clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Strong knowledge of consultancy/construction, infrastructure, and property sectors.
  • Degree (or equivalent) with professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines in the Programme, contract administration, and financial controls.
  • Openness to innovation and tries to find better approaches/ways of working.

Qualifications

Pay

The estimated salary for this position is 175,000 USD. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
