Prepares and organizes written presentations, documentation and reports pertaining to process safety activities. Delivers key presentations to senior managementTracks and reports process safety leading and lagging indicators, key process safety metrics, action plans, and priority recommendations. Assists with identifying resources to support key activitiesIdentifies process safety improvement opportunities through interaction with all process safety stakeholders. Makes recommendations and justifies new tools and work process improvements. Ensures that process safety-related Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), engineering standards and guidelines are developed, reviewed and updated as neededYou ensure that process safety deliverables are an integral part of project execution and management of change. Provides leadership to ensure that the quality and timing of project deliverables is acceptable. Ensures that appropriate management systems and information management tools are used to effectively manage process safety informationEnsures that adequate Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment procedures are in place and followed (includes PHA, LOPA, Facility Siting, Human Factors). Ensures that trained and qualified PHA facilitators and qualified team members participate in PHAsYou lead all key process safety incident investigations and Root Cause Analyses (RCA). Promotes a culture of transparency and seeks to understand underlying management system gaps and lack of operational discipline. Shares key learnings and follows upYou participate in key Pre-Startup Safety and Operational Readiness Reviews (PSSRs)Ensures that adequate Management of Change (MOC) procedures are in place and followedYou will manage the LG&E PSM/RMP Assessment program and leads or participates in key process safety assessmentsEnsures that process safety training is developed and maintained. When appropriate, delivers process safety training Demonstrates an understanding of the following: Risk-Based Process SafetyPHA requirements and methodologies, Facility Siting and Human FactorsProcess Safety Information, how PSI is used in operating facilities, and how it should be maintainedRelief systems and how their entire life cycle is critical to process safetyCritical Safety Systems (CSS), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Safety Integrity Levels (SIL), and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and demonstrates an awareness of how these apply to LG&E's businessManagement of Change (MOC) and its potential impact on process safetyPre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) and how and when they are conductedOperating Procedures required in process operationsMechanical Integrity, the basic elements of a mechanical integrity program, and how this program supports process safetyYou have good overall knowledge of OSHA's Process Safety Management (PSM) regulationKnowledge of various Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) related to process safetyEPA's Risk Management Program (RMP)How dispersion, fire and explosion modeling is used Possesses the ability and willingness to: You will analyze and understand process safety incidents within industry to identify opportunities for improvement withinDrives accountability at all organizational levels for process safety performance and risk reduction.You will stay up to date with local, state and federal regulations that apply to facilities withinPromote a strong process safety culture where attitudes and behaviors support the goal of safer process operationsYou will lead and participate in cross-functional teamsYou will manage multiple priorities, drive issues to completion, and obtain resultsBuild and maintain productive relationships across departmental lines in a matrix organization What Makes You Great You have a Bachelor's Degree (preferably from an ABET-accredited science, engineering, or technology program). Comparable experience will be consideredYou have experience managing a teamMinimum of 10 years of experience working with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP covered processesYou have a minimum of 5 years of experience conducting Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)Experience with incident investigations and the ability to facilitate Root Cause AnalysesYou are detail-oriented with an ability and desire to persevereMaintains a positive attitude and is willing to quickly adapt to changing situationsYou are proficient in the use of Microsoft O365 products including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePointProficient use of PHA Works softwareYou have experience with Six Sigma techniquesYou are able to travel to supported facilities and offices in various regions throughout North America.
