Associate Director of Software Engineering

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Director of Software Engineering to lead the technical health and direction of multiple key digital marketing platforms. This role involves guiding a team of engineers towards technical excellence, setting clear standards, driving smart architectural decisions, and delivering reliable, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, fostering strong technical execution and healthy team culture.
• Own the technical strategy and delivery for a portfolio of digital marketing tools and platforms.
• Partner with Product, UX, and business leaders to align engineering execution with company goals.
• Champion best practices across software development, testing, deployment, and DevOps.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve platform scalability, reliability, and speed-to-market.

Requirements

This role requires a strong software engineering background with the ability to quickly ramp up on Java / Spring. Four or more years of prior experience as an individual contributor, with progression into a current engineering leadership role, is expected. A proven ability to solve complex problems, drive clarity, and make sound technical decisions is essential. An interest and enthusiasm in leveraging AI to improve software engineering effectiveness are also required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience with Agile methodologies and a track record of delivering high-quality software products are preferred.

Skills

Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment are necessary. Proficiency in Java / Spring and experience with DevOps practices are highly valued.
