Associate Director of Radiology Modality at Penn Medicine

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative, clinical, and operational oversight of all inpatient and outpatient Radiology services.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, DOH, FDA, HIPAA).
  • Lead workforce management including recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, performance management, engagement, and retention.
  • Partner with Medical Directors and enterprise stakeholders to oversee clinical quality, safety, research, CEQI, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Manage daily operations including staffing, scheduling, payroll, policies and procedures, vendor relations, and equipment procurement.
  • Drive patient experience, service excellence, and operational efficiency through data-driven decision making.
  • Develop and manage capital and operating budgets, monitor variances, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain continuous accreditation readiness and support regulatory surveys.
  • Advance the One Penn Radiology vision through standardized practices, collaboration, and shared accountability across sites and modalities.
  • Serve as Administrative Director designee and assume administrative leadership responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Amer Registry Radiologic Tech (Required)
  • Certified Radiology Administrator (Required)
  • Current Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic technologists (ARRT), RDMS, RMSKS, CNMT or RPACertified Radiology Administrator. Must be obtained within first year upon hire if candidate does not possess a master’s degree.
  • Education or Equivalent Experience:
    • Graduate of an accredited Imaging Technology Program
    • Associate of Arts or Science with Graduate of an accredited Imaging Technology Program and 8+ years of supervisory experience.
    • Bachelor of Arts or Science with Science, Health Administration, Business Administration (other bachelor’s degrees may be considered) and at least six years of supervisory experience.
    • Master of Arts or Science, Health Administration, Business Administration (other master’s degrees may be considered) and at least three years of supervisory experience.
