Associate Director of Physical Therapy

About the Role

This is a 100% clinically based position where you will participate in the operations of an outpatient physical therapy clinic, including patient care, functional abilities testing (“lifts”), administration, confidential medical record management, and office maintenance/cleaning.

You will also lead and develop initiatives to improve patient care, treatment models, and business growth, educate and assist staff in achieving patient care and business metrics, and communicate with local businesses regarding company advantages.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, including evaluations, assessments, and determining plans of care as per the relevant state Physical Therapy Practice Act.
• Supervise ancillary staff and perform medical charting.
• Conduct lift/fit testing, including on-site essential job function assessments and developing unbiased tests of a person’s ability to safely complete tasks.
• Handle administrative duties such as patient and provider scheduling, copying, faxing, typing, phone work, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and educating PT staff (therapists, assistants, and technicians).
• Manage referral processes and ensure medical record confidentiality under HIPAA, including insurance authorizations and filing.
• Plan and evaluate all PT staff annually for performance reviews.
• Collaborate with corporate leadership on planning and executing business initiatives.
• Communicate specific business goals to colleagues and analyze performance data to form improvement plans.
• Engage with patients and clients to meet and exceed expectations.
• Model proper treatment and billing practices for colleagues.

Physical Demands

To successfully perform the duties of this role, you must be able to:

• Lift 25–50 lbs from floor to waist (10x daily, 1x daily).
• Lift 10 lbs overhead (1x daily).
• Carry 35 lbs for 6 ft (5x daily).
• Push/pull 25–100 lbs (5x daily, 1x weekly).
• Stand, walk, and reach for 75% of the shift.
• Squat, kneel, or crawl for 25% of the shift.
• Use a keyboard and mouse for 25% of the shift.

Communication Requirements

• Communicate through written instructions and complete routine logs/reports.
• Comprehend and follow verbal instructions and respond to audible stimuli.
• Send and receive type-written communications daily.

Requirements

• Certificate from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Current state PT license.
• Current CPR documentation.

Pay

Salary range: $114,000 to $118,000.
