Associate Director of Development

About the role

Develops charitable support for Fayetteville State University and the FSU Foundation, Inc. Identifies prospects, cultivates, solicits, and stewards donors with a focus on securing gifts of $25,000 or more in support of University objectives. Engages corporations/foundations for philanthropic support and works closely with Career Services on internship and employment opportunities for students. Meets defined visit and solicitation goals and collaborates with the Associate Vice Chancellor for Development, advancement team members, deans, faculty, staff, and volunteers to achieve these goals. Works with autonomy under general guidance from supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Secure gifts of $25,000 or more in support of University objectives
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors
• Engage corporations and foundations for philanthropic support
• Partner with Career Services to create internship and employment opportunities for students
• Meet defined visit and solicitation goals
• Collaborate with leadership, advancement team, academic units, and volunteers to advance fundraising priorities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 3 years of development or similar experience at a university or comparable organization, or equivalent professional experience in outside sales
• Ability and willingness to travel and complete overnight stays regionally and/or out of state

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and proficiency of Raiser’s Edge or RE NXT
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
