About the role

The Associate Director of Dental (ADD) role combines clinical care and administrative leadership positions at STRIDE Community Health Center. This role requires a current Colorado Dental License and at least 3 years of general dentist experience.

Responsibilities

  • Promote whole-person care across the healthcare delivery system.
  • Lead and guide dental providers, ensuring they follow confidentiality guidelines and collaborate with other departments.
  • Maintain clinical and financial sustainability while supporting the organization's mission and strategic plan.
  • Provide mentorship and support to direct reports and internal partners.
  • Manage provider chart review processes and lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency and quality assurance.
  • Engage in continuing education and collaborate with dental leadership to maintain clinical guidelines and documentation.
  • Organize and attend staff, Triad, and other meetings as needed.
  • Monitor provider productivity and participate in budget planning and review for assigned clinic locations.
  • Evaluate clinical quality and use data to drive quality assurance and improvement strategies.
  • Assist in managing dental outreach activities and coordinate medical and dental integration with other management team members.
  • Ensure the dental provider team's productivity and efficiency by evaluating clinical quality and using data to drive quality assurance (QA) and quality improvement (QI) strategies.
  • Oversee orientation, education, and training of new dental providers, including electronic dental record (EDR) training, in coordination with Operations and Human Resources (HR).

Requirements

  • Current Colorado Dental License.
  • Experience in management and quality improvement.
  • Minimum of 3 years of general dentist experience.
  • FTE of 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week).
  • STRIDE tenure of 1 year minimum, unless applied as an external candidate with relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to protect the confidentiality of patients, employees, and business information.
  • Knowledge of and ability to provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to other oral health providers on the team.
  • Ability to interact positively and build rapport with patients, coworkers, and/or external contacts.
  • Able to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations.

  • Capacity to use sound judgment, empathy, and innovative thinking when adapting to evolving circumstances and limited resources.
  • Knowledge in integrated Whole Person Care and patient access.
  • Ability to function in clinical settings with diverse cultural dynamics of clinical staff and patients.
  • Ability to demonstrate the capability to effectively and sensitively respond to the needs and concerns of the full range of STRIDE’s diverse patient population.
  • Ability to strictly enforce infection control protocols in dental settings, consistently maintaining the highest standards for patient and staff safety.
  • Strong customer service skills, including the ability to diffuse distressed patients and manage challenging situations occurring in the health center.
  • Ability to collaborate with other providers, clinical staff, and team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information ethically and responsibly.

Pay

$153,400 - $173,200 + $7,500, depending on your experience.

Schedule

Full-time (1.0 FTE, 40 hours/week).
