About the role

P&W Engineering is seeking a qualified leader to serve as the Associate Director of Capability Ecosystem within our EDSI Digital Engineering (DE) team.

Responsibilities

  • Part of a team responsible for the strategy, development, and support of critical engineering tools that are part of the foundational elements of our engineering enterprise.
  • Closely tied to advancing the Digital Tools and Data Science Discipline at Pratt & Whitney as well as coordination with other business units within RTX.
  • Responsible for a team that focuses on PLM and CAD enterprise tools, foundational Digital Engineering capabilities, and implementing our strategic tool maintenance and support plan.
  • Drive a team-of-teams mentality to enable our organization to maximize our delivery while continuing to strengthen the team through upskilling and cross training.
  • Contribute to overall organization strategy and advancement as a key member of the EDSI DE leadership team.
  • Identify team goals and align digital ecosystem team priorities with strategic objectives and funded initiatives.
  • Ensure support, maintenance, and foundational capabilities are delivered as planned with functionality that meets or exceeds stakeholder expectations.
  • Establish key performance indicators to measure success and drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct skills gap analyses to identify areas for development.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and leadership for the managers and individual contributors on the team.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 12+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree in a related field and 10+ years relevant experience in engineering-heavy industry (e.g., Semiconductors, Aerospace, MedTech, or Automotive) with at least 3+ years in a leadership/management capacity.
  • Experience with capability development across the entire capability development lifecycle.
  • Direct supervisor experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Security Clearance.
  • Leadership and People Management: Proven experience managing teams, including hiring, training, and developing talent, with a focus on fostering a culture of growth and ownership.
  • Software Maintenance and Support Expertise: Demonstrated experience in overseeing and performing software maintenance and support, ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Engineering Organization Experience: Background in working within or leading teams in an engineering focused organization with an understanding of engineering processes and tools.
  • Predictive Capabilities: Familiarity with predictive capabilities in engineering.
  • Tool Proficiency: Experience using tools like Jira for backlog and roadmap management, as well as for fostering team collaboration and transparency.
  • Collaboration with Digital Technology (DT): Experience working with DT teams to prioritize, fund, and execute software maintenance and support initiatives.
  • Managing Managers: Experience in leading leaders and developing their management capabilities to build organizational bench strength.

Benefits

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
