Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of five years of experience in alumni relations, development, communications, or related fields.
Demonstrated success in building alumni engagement programs that lead to increased philanthropic support.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Experience planning and executing events of varying sizes and formats.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a multi-year alumni engagement strategy aligned with the Law School’s strategic priorities and fundraising goals.
- Identify, cultivate, and steward alumni to increase participation in giving, volunteerism, and leadership roles.
- Maintain a portfolio of alumni engagement prospects and collaborate with development officers to transition engaged alumni into donor pipelines.
- Establish and manage alumni advisory boards, reunion committees, and regional alumni networks that reflect the diversity of the UDC Law community.
- Partner with Admissions and Career Services to integrate alumni into student recruitment and career mentoring initiatives.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive alumni communications plan, including a monthly e-newsletter, social media strategy, and targeted campaigns.
- Serve as the lead writer and editor for alumni-facing content, ensuring consistency in tone, messaging, and branding.
- Collaborate with the Dean and senior leadership to craft compelling narratives that highlight UDC Law’s impact and priorities.
- Monitor and analyze engagement metrics, media coverage, and public sentiment to inform communication strategies.
- Plan, manage, and execute high-impact events such as the annual Alumni Reunion, BWLL Event & Reception, and regional gatherings.
- Oversee logistics, programming, and volunteer coordination for events that foster alumni engagement and donor cultivation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure events align with institutional goals and deliver a high return on investment.
- Maintain and safeguard the alumni database and alumni practice directory.
- Ensure accurate tracking of alumni engagement, communications, and giving history.
- Develop reports and dashboards to assess program effectiveness and inform decision-making.
