Details Posted: 17-Jun-26 Location: ALEXANDRIA, Virginia Type: Full Time Categories Admissions Required Education 4 Year Degree Episcopal High School seeks a full time Associate Director of Admissions to assist with all aspects of the admission and recruitment process. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in and passion for working in an independent boarding school environment. The Associate Director is a member of the admission committee and reports directly to the Director of Admissions. Responsibilities And Duties Engage in travel for recruitment and other related admissions events.Help plan and coordinate on campus open-houses and revisit programs.In collaboration with the admissions team, develop, execute, and evaluate the vision for recruitment of students for the school including goal-setting and attainment.Identify trends in independent school demographics and collaborate with internal departments and external consultants to create long and short term recruitment strategies.Effectively communicate and build relationships with prospective families, feeder schools, educational consultants, international agents, etc.Participate in all facets and phases of the recruiting process, including fielding inquiry calls, conducting on/off-campus candidate interviews, and traveling domestically and internationally.Collaborate with the Director of Admissions in managing the inquiry to enrollment process. As a member of the admission committee, recommends and selects applicants for admission.Exercise a working knowledge of the strategic relationship between the roles of admission, marketing, and financial aid and achieving enrollment objectives.Contribute significantly to the life of the School outside of the Admissions office through extracurricular activities and residential life. The School will give preference to those candidates who can coach girls’ lacrosse, tennis, squash, and/or baseball. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Interpersonal skills, organization, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to work a boarding school schedule, which includes weekends and evenings, are all vital to the success of working at Episcopal High School.Cultural competency with a wide range of people of all backgrounds and nationalities.General understanding of standardized testing and academic credential evaluation.Experience in marketing and communications.Possess strong communication skills, an enthusiasm for working with young people, a desire to travel domestically and internationally, the ability to connect with a diverse group of students and families and the ability to work collaboratively and enthusiastically with a team of admissions professionals. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree.Minimum of 2 years of experience in independent school or higher education admissions.The energy and ability to travel overnight, both domestically and internationally. Flexibility to work weekends, early mornings and evenings at various campus events.
