Position Description Travel Percentage: Up to75% Reports to: Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing and the Dean of Admissions Openings: 1 The Associate Director of Admissions' goal will be to successfully hire, train, supervise, and motivate admissions staff toward improving graduate and undergraduate enrollment, which is critical to the success of the university. This position oversees members of the admissions recruitment team, including up to two Undergraduate Admissions Specialists and the Graduate Admissions Specialist, and supports territory management with a primary focus on graduate recruitment. Approximately 75% of the role will be dedicated to graduate recruitment and 25% to undergraduate recruitment. The ideal candidate will be ready to work with the team on engagement and sales techniques that move students toward enrollment at the University. Job Responsibilities Hiring, training, and coaching the Undergraduate Admissions Counselors team with positivity, care, and goal orientation while motivating them toward recruitment goals for head count and net revenue that are in line with the goals of the University. Supporting interdepartmental student recruitment initiatives by serving as an Admissions liaison to the Student Engagement Office, Residence Life division, and Athletics department. Providing supervision and oversight of up to two Undergraduate Admissions Specialists and the Graduate Admissions Specialist, ensuring alignment with recruitment goals, office priorities, and service standards. Serving as a secondary athletic pre-read reviewer for first-time, full-time students in collaboration with the Director of Transfer Operations and Credit Evaluations. Assisting in the research, development and implementation of the undergraduate student recruitment plan with the goal of growing traditional undergraduate enrollment. Helping create and uphold admissions standards that reflect the values and goals of Manhattan University. Managing assigned recruitment territories and/or student groups, with approximately 75% of efforts focused on graduate recruitment and 25% focused on undergraduate recruitment, including outreach, engagement, and follow-up strategies that support enrollment goals. Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of team work, respect and customer service. By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role. Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect, appreciation and humility. Up to 75% travel commitment during peak recruitment months: September, October, March, and April. Other duties as assigned. Requirements A Bachelor's Degree or further education. 3+ years of increasing responsibility in College Admissions, Sales, Customer Service, Retail or other customer-facing industries and a demonstrated ability to produce results within the context of a team environment. Strong communication and presentation skills . Strong self-motivation, initiative, goal setting skills, the ability to set objectives and a desire to learn and grow. Prior management experience is preferred but not required. Ability to demonstrate leadership outside of a management position could also be considered. Willingness to work cooperatively and constructively with a wide variety of people and the ability to speak to changing demographics in the country and its effect on the recruitment of students. The ability, willingness and availability to travel, including by car and airplane. Must have a valid driver's license.
