Responsibilities
- Develop trusted relationships with the business and provide legal and compliance guidance to support business objectives.
- Negotiate, draft, and advise on a broad range of agreements, including vendor, consulting, confidentiality, technology, clinical, medical affairs, commercial, etc.
- Support the Company's healthcare compliance program, including policy development, training, monitoring, investigations, and corrective action initiatives.
- Support employment law matters, including employment compliance, employee relations, and investigations.
- Collaborate with the Data Protection Officer on the Company’s privacy program, including advising on information governance and emerging technology matters, such as artificial intelligence.
- Assist with litigation as necessary, including engagement and management of outside counsel, strategic coordination, and document preservation and discovery.
- Manage and coordinate work with outside counsel and other external advisors, as appropriate.
- Support special projects and strategic initiatives across the Legal and Compliance function.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and membership in good standing with at least one state bar.
- Approximately 4-8 years of relevant legal experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and/or life sciences industry, with law firm and/or in-house experience preferred.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, a problem-solving mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and drive execution.
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
