About the role

The AoPS Academy Associate Director at our Frisco campus assists with the campus’s administrative and logistical operations, teaches weekly language arts classes, and partners with the Campus Director on the hiring and training of part-time staff and teachers. This is a full-time, year-round position that includes the academic year and summer.

This role is ideal for someone looking to build management and leadership experience, with strong subject knowledge in language arts and outstanding classroom management skills. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills and pedagogical instincts to teach our advanced curriculum and coach other instructors.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the AoPS curriculum in dynamic, participation-oriented classes, actively engaging students and expertly managing the classroom.
  • Participate in the hiring and training of part-time staff.
  • Assist with the campus’s administrative, logistical, and customer service operations.
  • Support campus enrollment and sales efforts by meeting with prospective families to assess a student's academic ability, determine overall fit, and explain the benefits of our program.
  • Counsel current students and families as needed to provide student support.
  • Help design and implement campus community-building activities to build a strong campus culture and support high student retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; strongly preferred in education or a field closely related to the subject area.
  • Advanced degree related to the subject area preferred.
  • Strong content knowledge in language arts.
  • Minimum 1-year teaching experience; experience working with advanced K-12 students preferred.
  • Strong organizational and priority management skills.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US; sponsorship (including STEM-OPT and H-1B) is not available.

Schedule

AoPS Academy is an after-school program; most classes and family meetings occur during evenings and weekends. Associate Directors work a nontraditional schedule during the academic year. Summer hours typically shift to a more standard Monday to Friday schedule.

Pay

Starting salary of $66,075 – $67,656.
