About the role

The Associate Director, HEOR is responsible for developing and executing the health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) strategy for Braeburn’s product(s) while working cross-functionally with Market Access, and other Commercial functions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the HEOR strategy for Braeburn’s product(s), ensuring alignment with medical, brand, and market access objectives.
  • In partnership with external and internal stakeholders, design, lead, and manage HEOR studies and projects, which may include retrospective database and claims analyses, real-world evidence (RWE) studies, patient-reported outcomes (PRO) research, burden-of-and cost-of-illness studies across various settings including institutional settings.
  • Lead the development and updates of economic models-building, commissioning, or overseeing cost-effectiveness, budget impact models, and cost-offset analyses- and translate HEOR findings into payer, public sector, and policymaker value propositions, AMCP dossiers, value communication tools, and objection-handling resources.
  • Manage external vendors, consultants, and academic collaborators, overseeing scope, budget, timelines, and the quality of deliverables.
  • Serve as the HEOR subject-matter expert for cross-functional teams and, as requested, in external interactions with payers, institutional and public health agencies, policymakers, and key opinion leaders.
  • Gather and synthesize insights and monitor the external OUD, addiction medicine, behavioral health, and criminal justice landscape to anticipate evidence needs.
  • Ensure all HEOR activities comply with applicable scientific standards and legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
  • Identify and pilot opportunities to apply AI/ML to improve the speed, scale, and rigor of evidence generation and synthesis.

Requirements

  • Strong technical expertise in HEOR methods, including health economics, epidemiology, biostatistics, real-world data and claims analysis, patient-reported outcomes, and economic modeling.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute observational and RWE studies and to interpret and communicate complex quantitative findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills, including scientific writing, publication development, and the ability to translate data into compelling value stories.
  • Project and/and vendor management skills, with the ability to lead multiple studies and budgets independently and deliver on timeline.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills including building multi-stakeholder consensus and influencing without direct authority.
  • Working knowledge of the US payer and managed care environment.
  • Able to operate within, or quickly learn, pharmaceutical compliance and review frameworks.
  • Able to travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree required: PharmD, MD, PhD, or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant HEOR experience including post-doctoral work or fellowship within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, academic, research, or payer setting.
  • Demonstrated track record of designing and delivering HEOR studies from concept through publication, including peer-reviewed publications and scientific congress presentations.
  • Experience generating evidence in OUD, addiction medicine, behavioral health, CNS, criminal justice, correctional health, or specialty pharmaceutical markets is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient with real-world data sources and related software.
