Associate Director, Field HEOR Training Oncology/Hematology
The Role
If you know what separates good field training from training that actually changes how a team communicates value, this role puts you in charge of building it.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Training Leadership
- Lead field HEOR-specific scientific, functional, and competency-based training programs.
- Create and maintain comprehensive onboarding programs, including 90-day learning plans.
- Create congress training strategies for major oncology and payer meetings.
- Support continuing education across oncology disease state training, HEOR fundamentals, payer landscape education, and scientific certification programs.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive field HEOR competency framework.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with HEOR, Real-World Evidence, Field Medical Affairs, and Medical Affairs Strategy teams to keep training content current.
- Collaborate with Medical Information and Medical Communications teams on scientific materials training.
- Coordinate with US Market Access and Medical Training teams on role-specific learning initiatives.
- Align with Commercial Training teams on launch readiness and market-shaping activities.
- Program Development & Execution
- Develop and maintain curricula, competency maps, and training documentation.
- Manage annual functional training plans and launch readiness initiatives.
- Lead internal training before and after major congresses.
- Provide training on new scientific data, clinical developments, HEOR evidence, and competitive intelligence.
- Manage external vendors and training partners.
- Compliance & Operational Excellence
- Partner with Compliance to develop training related to evidence dissemination, payer engagement, and HEOR communications.
- Review training materials and stakeholder engagement plans.
- Manage training budgets, contracts, and invoices.
- Assessment & Performance Metrics
- Define and monitor training effectiveness KPIs.
- Measure learning outcomes and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Continuously improve programs based on feedback, performance data, and evolving industry expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred (PharmD, PhD, MD, MPH, or MS in HEOR, Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related discipline).
- Experience
- 8+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in one or more of the following: Medical Training, HEOR, Market Access, Field Medical Affairs, or Medical Excellence.
- Minimum 2 years of oncology experience required.
- Experience supporting solid tumor and/or hematology products.
- Prior experience as a Field HEOR Liaison, Value Liaison, or supporting field HEOR teams preferred.
- Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of oncology, HEOR, real-world evidence, market access, and payer engagement.
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical and economic data.
- Demonstrated success building and delivering professional training programs.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
- Proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and learning management systems (LMS).
- Travel
- Ability to travel approximately 20% to 30% for congresses, internal meetings, and training programs.
