Associate Director Data Architect
About the role
The Associate Director, Data Architect is a member of the IT team responsible for the architecture, delivery, and ongoing management of enterprise integrations across the organization. This role oversees integration platforms, middleware, APIs, and data flows that connect core business applications including ERP, HCM, CRM, Supply Chain, Data Platforms, and third-party systems.
Responsibilities
- Own and govern integration platforms (e.g., Workato, Oracle Integration Cloud, MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Azure Integration Services, Informatica, etc.).
- Define integration standards, best practices, APIs, and reusable frameworks to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Oversee the design of integration solutions including real-time APIs, event-based messaging, ETL/ELT, and batch processes.
- Lead cross-functional integration projects supporting system migrations, digital initiatives, and SaaS deployments.
- Translate business requirements into technical integration designs.
- Manage delivery timelines, budgets, and resources to meet project commitments.
- Partner with vendors, implementation partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Oversee daily operations of integration services including monitoring, issue resolution, and performance tuning.
- Maintain integration catalogs, documentation, and interface inventories.
- Establish governance processes around API lifecycle management, change control, and versioning.
- Ensure compliance with security frameworks, data privacy regulations, and IT controls (SOX, GDPR, etc.).
- Implement robust authentication, authorization, and encryption standards across all integrations.
- Manage integration-related vulnerabilities and ensure adherence to cybersecurity best practices.
- Conduct regular audits and support regulatory, internal, and external assessments.
- Provide thought leadership on integration technologies, patterns, and emerging trends (APIs, event-driven architecture, microservices, iPaaS).
- Collaborate with IT peers and application owners to shape future-state architecture.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of leadership experience managing vendors, engineering or integration teams.
- Hands-on expertise with modern integration solutions (e.g., Workato, OIC, MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure, etc.).
- Strong understanding of API management, REST/SOAP services, event-driven architecture, and cloud-based integrations.
- Proven track record delivering complex integration projects across enterprise applications.
- Solid understanding of security, authentication, and data governance frameworks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Bio-tech and commercial launch experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Certification in integration platforms or cloud providers (Oracle, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- 10+ years of experience in IT integrations, middleware, or enterprise architecture.
Qualifications
- Experience in regulated industries (life sciences, healthcare, finance, manufacturing).
- Familiarity with systems like Oracle Fusion, Workday, Veeva Vault, and Salesforce.
- Experience with microservices architecture, DevOps, CI/CD automation, and cloud-native development.
Skills

Benefits
Base salary for this position is expected to range between $175,500.00 - $214,500.00 USD per year. The salary offered is determined based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant education and training, overall related experience, specialized, rare or in-demand skill sets, internal comparators and other business needs. Upon joining Intellia, your salary will be reviewed periodically and additional factors such as time in role and performance will be considered. Intellia may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.
Additional compensation includes a performance-based annual cash bonus, a new hire equity grant, and eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards the value of which are determined annually at the Company’s discretion.

The base salary for this position is expected to range between $175,500.00 - $214,500.00 USD per year.
