The Associate Director of Academic Evaluation (ADAE) works closely with staff in the Registrar's Office, Advising Center, Admissions, and faculty and staff in academic units to support the effective operation of academic evaluation services. The ADAE assists in supervising and coordinating the work of academic evaluators, oversees daily workflow and caseload management, supports the implementation of unit goals and objectives, and contributes to quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives. The ADAE serves as a resource for course classifications, degree program requirements, transfer credit policies, and academic evaluation procedures. This position facilitates communication among evaluators and collaborates with academic and administrative offices to promote consistency, efficiency, and excellent student service. This position requires the ability to analyze and apply complex academic policies consistently; excellent communication and leadership skills; and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with faculty, staff, and students. This full-time hybrid position, with a minimum of two required days at Excelsior's home office in Albany, NY, and the remainder of the days worked from home, reports to a Director of Academic Evaluation or the Associate Registrar within the Registrar's Office. Evening and weekend hours may be necessary for this position. Duties And Responsibilities Assists in supervising and coordinating the work of a group academic evaluators through workflow management, training, coaching, and performance support.Monitors evaluator caseloads, work queues, and service metrics; recommends adjustments to ensure timely processing and achievement of departmental goals. Provides guidance to evaluators regarding academic policies, transfer credit decisions, degree requirements, and procedural questions.Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, procedures, training materials, and evaluation resources.Assists in coordination of onboarding, training, and professional development activities for academic evaluation staff.Serves as a point of contact for escalated student, faculty, and staff inquiries related to academic evaluation and degree completion matters.Collaborates with faculty, deans, and university offices regarding curriculum changes and academic evaluation processes.Participates in university committees, work groups, and cross-functional initiatives that support student success and institutional effectiveness as needed. Assists with accreditation reviews, audits, and compliance-related activities by providing subject matter expertise. Represents Excelsior University at professional meetings, conferences, and external partner discussions as appropriate. Master's degree from an accredited institution3-5 years of academic evaluation experience or equivalent experience in academic records, degree auditing, transfer credit evaluation, registrar services, or a related higher education function. Prior experience leading projects, coordinating teams, training staff, or providing supervisory oversight requiredAbility to manage multiple priorities, analyze complex information, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, sound judgment, and commitment to excellent student service.Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to interpret and apply university policies and procedures consistently and effectively.Proficient computer skills, including experience with student information systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications, with a willingness to learn new technologies. Preferred Qualifications Formal supervisory experience preferred. The hiring salary range for this position is $62,500.00 - $70,000.00. The hiring salary range above represents the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting.
