About the role

The Associate Developer & Business Analyst serves as an entry-level technology professional responsible for supporting application development, business process analysis, and technology initiatives across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in gathering, documenting, and validating business and technical requirements from stakeholders.
  • Document business processes, workflows, use cases, and user stories to support technology initiatives.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and workshops to understand business challenges and identify potential technology solutions.
  • Analyze existing processes and recommend opportunities for automation and improvement.
  • Support Business Technology Partners in translating business needs into actionable technical requirements.
  • Assist with solution evaluations, software assessments, and technology research.
  • Support the development, configuration, customization, and enhancement of internal applications and business solutions.
  • Aid in coding, scripting, automation, and integration efforts under the guidance of senior developers and architects.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, data extracts, and workflow automations as needed.
  • Assist with software testing, quality assurance activities, and defect resolution.
  • Maintain source code repositories, technical documentation, and development standards.
  • Help maintain system documentation, knowledge articles, and support procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues when required.
  • Create and maintain business requirements documents, technical specifications, process maps, and user documentation.
  • Support project documentation, status reporting, and project tracking activities.
  • Affirm work products follow established IT standards, procedures, and documentation practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the IT organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Master of Science in Computer Science or related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in software development, business analysis, application support, or technology-related roles.
  • Internships considered.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and software development fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Exposure to one or more programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, or SQL.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts.
  • Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub, or other source control and project management platforms.
  • Exposure to Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, or Microsoft 365 technologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies.
  • Understanding of data modeling, databases, and reporting concepts.
  • Knowledge of API integrations and web technologies is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (e.g., sitting or standing).
  • Frequent use of a computer and other office equipment.
  • Occasionally move or lift items up to 10 pounds.
