Associate Designer jewelry and Soft Accessories
About the Role
Work closely with your manager to formulate concepts and select color stories for each season. Product categories include jewelry, scarves, socks, sunglasses, hats, and seasonal items. Prepare professional presentation boards with illustrations, CAD artwork, fabrication, materials, and samples.
Research seasonal trends, themes, color, raw materials, and styling for the specified classification. Execute the seasonal line list and meet product development calendar deadlines. Collaborate with Technical Design, Production, and Merchandising teams to ensure accuracy of specs, quality, and design vision from initial concept to finished product in stores. Conduct fittings and add colorways of print and pattern.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of design experience, including accessories experience
- Apparel or Product Design degree
- High taste level and creative ability
- Strong color sense
- Excellent presentation skills
- Team player with excellent written and communication skills
- Ability to adhere to deadlines and calendars
- Good follow-through, proactive attitude
- Knowledge of garment construction and fabric/trim
- Strong illustration skills and sketching ability
- Knowledge of lab dips
- Expertise in Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- BA in Design

Pay
Salary Range: $64,200.00 - $79,600.00. The base salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The base salary is one component of J.Crew Group’s total rewards strategy, which also includes bonuses, competitive benefits, and perks.
