Pay range: $58,100.00 – $104,600.00. Pay is based on several factors, including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

The Design team owns the design and development of all Target-owned brands, from apparel to home goods, beauty to essentials. In close partnership with merchant and sourcing counterparts, you’ll drive brand cohesion and continuity, ensuring products meet merchant line plans, assortment strategies, price points, and overall creative direction.
Responsibilities
- Support Owned Brand Product Design and Development with direction from design leaders to achieve product design strategy and merchant objectives
- Maintain a diligent and self-directed approach to workload, providing accurate and timely communication to internal and external partners
- Support product and trend research, trend concepts, color, and design/development of products
- Assist in preparing product specs and developing trim, print, embellishment, and hardware packages
- Translate ideas using CAD and hand sketches, including completing design/technical sketches and professional presentation boards for meetings and vendor partners
- Work closely with the Technical Design department to communicate fit and construction details

Schedule
This role requires in-office work 4 days per week from Target’s downtown Minneapolis, MN campus. It operates as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement, meaning work may be performed onsite or virtually depending on role, team, and task requirements. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the primary work location’s country.
Team Members in the Target General Merch Inc operating company are prohibited from working remotely from AL, AR, DE, FL, IN, IA, LA, MD, MS, MO, NC, OK, PA, SC, TN, or VA for more than thirty (30) days per calendar year.
Requirements
- Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art, or similar area of study, or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of experience in design
- Proficiency in computer design systems, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Experience in CAD illustration or 2D/3D software
- Ability to stay aware of trends and fashion
- Understanding of textiles, garment construction/fit, or raw materials and product production
- Ability to assimilate product feedback
- Strong research skills to apply market and trend information
- Ability to build strong partnerships and work effectively in a team environment
